Richard Ball formed Filtration Services Inc. – the predecessor of FSI International Services Ltd. – in 1987, and quickly grew the company into one of the premiere providers of oilfield filtration expertise in Western Canada. Mr. Ball received his diploma in Petroleum Engineering from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1968 and has spent the past thirty-eight years in the oil and gas industry in both production operations and the service sector. During his career, Mr. Ball has been involved in the development of new and innovative technologies which have been utilized in both domestic and international markets. Mr. Ball has been a pioneer in exporting oil and gas technology, goods and services to the newly opened markets of the former Soviet Union. His expertise is regularly sought out by major producers in both the western hemisphere and states of the former Soviet Union.
Ian R. Ball

Chief Financial Officer and Director
Ian Ball has been involved with the company since its formation as Filtration Services Inc. in 1987. Mr. Ball graduated from the University of Calgary in 1994 with his Bachelor of Commerce degree. He is responsible for the corporate finance and financial control activities of the company. Mr. Ball has been Chief Financial Officer and director of the Corporation since February 29, 2000.
Doug Keller

Mr. Keller is the General Manager and Treasurer of Control Innovations Inc., a privately held corporation, operating since March, 2000, which manufactures instrumentation and controls used primarily in the drilling and well servicing sector of the oil and gas industry. Mr. Keller has a diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology with more than 25 years experience in instrumentation and controls for the oil and gas drilling, well servicing and pipeline construction industries.
Dennis L. Nerland

Mr. Nerland received his Bachelor of Science Degree in economics and mathematics from the University of Calgary in 1975, his Master of Arts Degree in economics from Carleton University, in Ottawa, Ontario in 1976 and his Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Calgary in 1979. Mr. Nerland is a regular speaker in local, provincial and national tax planning seminars, and has been widely published in the tax and estate planning field. Mr. Nerland limits his practice exclusively to tax and estate planning matters. Mr. Nerland is a founding partner of the Calgary based law firm of Shea Nerland Calnan. Prior thereto, he was a partner of the law firm Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer from 1985 to 1990. He is a director and trustee of a number of private and public corporations and trusts.
Bob Spiller

Mr. Spiller has been the President of Pioneer Professional Services Group, a land and environmental business consulting company in the energy industry, since September 2000. Prior thereto, Mr. Spiller was a Land Manager of Pioneer Land Services Ltd. from November 1997 until September 2000 when he became President. Mr. Spiller has a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) from the University of Alberta.
